IOM, the UN Migration Agency, supported the Government of Zambia to host a National Consultation on the Global Compact on Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) in Lusaka on 2nd November 2017.
The UN Migration Agency (IOM), in partnership with the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), participated in the IOM Global Migration Film Festival through the screening of a movie entitled Inside Story.
IOM, as part of the United Nations Joint Programme on Social Protection (2016-2018), is assisting the Government of Zambia to develop and implement coherent ‘policies and practices that protect and promote the livelihoods and welfare of people suffering from critical levels of poverty and deprivation and/or are vulnerable to risks and shocks,’
In July 2017, the UN Migration Agency worked with the COMESA Secretariat to host its first ever Regional Consultative Process (RCP) on Migration, otherwise known as the Migration Dialogue for COMESA Member States, or simply MIDCOM.
