To unify and modernize The UN Migration Agency's brand as part of the UN family, IOM’s Media and Communications Division (MCD) has updated the organization's Brand Guidelines Manual.

The guidelines provide all IOM staff, especially communications and public information officers, consultants and service providers dealing with visibility materials, with the support and guidance they require.

The Guidelines tell us:

  • How to use IOM logos correctly;
  • Which IOM primary and secondary colours to use for official productions;
  • How to layout text in documents (with examples);
  • How to use photos for visibility materials;
  • How to design digital platforms.

Highlights

  • Uses of the official IOM logo;
  • A new IOM visibility logo for better readability and impact;
  • An alternative version of the visibility logo for digital media and small merchandising/visibility items;
  • A package of visibility templates;
  • Frequent updates with new document models.
  • The guidelines will be updated regularly, so it's important to check for updates and download the latest version if developing new visibility products. Staff advisories will also be issued to publicize updates to the guidelines.

In the coming weeks, MCD will run webinars and publish articles on each guideline section.
