A Message from the CIO
It feels like yesterday, when having a browser – to connect and to collaborate, was the most exciting thing. And yet here we are today, in the so-called fourth industrial revolution, where mobile technology is driving businesses. It is driving the way we connect, interact, and socialize.
In 2017, we want to make it the year where we bring mobile technology to IOM. This will allow the Organization, migrants, and governments to interact, exchange, and acquire knowledge on migration through mobile technology.
This year’s first issue of TECH@work, we embrace the changing face of mobile technology – through platforms for collaboration and mobility – and attempt to uncover the latest developments that foster greater productivity. In IOM and ICT, with the New Year, we plan to deploy and implement projects that will enhance productivity.
Technology on its own, without the drive for greater productivity, will just be like any other toy. In IOM, the use of technology and mobile technology has only one objective – that is to increase, enhance, and improve productivity; and deliver services to migrants, governments, and our beneficiaries.
The vision of IT, is innovating for a better future.
