STORY

“The most memorable moment I have experienced during my work as a humanitarian aid worker was in 2012. It was Christmas day and I was on a boat that carried non-food items for 940 families who had been affected by a severe flood. When we arrived at our destination, a large crowd of people was waiting for us. They helped us distribute the blankets, jerry cans, cooking pots, mosquito nets, and the other items we had brought. The people were all very happy and smiling. The kids were running around holding the items we had distributed. For that moment I believe they forgot the misery they went through. That Christmas night, I will never forget!”
